Lakers win Game 4; extend series

Jason Parkhurst-USA TODAY Sports

The Lakers came into Game 4 with a 3-0 deficit, but they were able to win at home and extend the series.

Anthony Davis, with his impressive 25/23/6 on 11-17 shooting, and LeBron James, leading the team in scoring with 30 points on 14-23 shooting, demonstrated their unmatched skills and leadership.

However, it was the role players stepping up that made the difference. D’Angelo Russell had a great bounce-back game with 21 points on 8-15 shooting and 4-8 from three after scoring zero points in Game 3.

Austin Reaves also contributed 21, while Rui Hachimura and Taurean Prince had nine apiece.

Defensively, the Purple and Gold held the role players in check. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray got theirs, as Jokic finished with 33/14/14 while Murray had 22/6/5.

Michael Porter Jr. contributed 27 points, and Kentavious Caldwell Pope had 14, but the rest of Denver was quiet.

Aaron Gordon scored only seven points after finishing with 29 in Game 3. The Nuggets bench scored only five points, relying heavily on the production of their starters.

This was a big win for the LakeShow, and they need to play at this level for the rest of the series to win.

LA will head back to Denver for Game 5 and need to take it one game at a time as they try to pull off a miracle 3-0 comeback.
