Russ has adapted well into his role as the 6th man. After a disappointing first season with the team, he has become a valuable player for the LakeShow.
This season, Westbrook is averaging 15/6/8 while shooting 40% and 28% from three. The 34-year-old guard is a truly impactful player for LA, as his bench role has rejuvenated his career.

He has bought into Darvin Ham’s system and is bringing effort and intensity on both ends of the floor. His improvement defensively has given the Lakers a big boost. With a lack of wings, Westbrook has guarded taller players at times and done a good job disrupting them.
He has found his role and fit around LeBron and AD and will continue to bring a spark to the second unit.
Rob Pelinka and the front office seem interested in making a move, but it looks like it will be around the edges as Westbrook is here to stay.
