Injury Report: Lakers @ Thunder

Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers (8-3) will continue their road trip as they take on the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder (11-1). This will be the first matchup this season between the two heavyweights.

The last time these two teams met, it was quite the show. Towards the end of last season, the Lakers traveled to OKC to face the Thunder twice in as many games. The first game, they blew out OKC in Luka’s first showing against them in Purple and Gold.

The next game was riddled with injuries, similar to tonight’s game. While it might not be the best gauge of how these two teams match up in the long haul, it will still be a great showing nonetheless. Let’s see who’s in and who’s out tonight.

Lakers Injury Report

LeBron James – Out ( right sciatica )

LeBron James will continue to miss time for LA as he recovers from a sciatica injury. While his return date has not been specified, Shams Charania gave us an update today.

Adou Thiero – Out ( left knee surgery recovery )

Thiero has yet to see any on-court action due to a knee surgery this last offseason. JJ Redick, however, is hopeful that Thiero will be able to make his debut at some point during this road trip. Lakers Nation will fall in love when he finally plays.

Gabe Vincent – Out ( left ankle sprain )

According to Khobi Price of the Southern California News Group, Vincent recently progressed his on-court work with Lindsey Harding. They’re hoping the 2-4 week timeline for Vincent comes in closer to three.

Thunder Injury Report

Jalen Williams – Out ( wrist surgery )

Jalen Williams, arguably OKC’s second-best player, will continue to miss time due to his offseason wrist surgery. He actually played through the entire playoffs with the injury before dealing with it this summer.

Lu Dort – Out ( upper trap strain)

An upper trap strain is certainly an interesting injury to see an NBA player sustain. This does not help the running joke that Dort is essentially out there playing football.

Aaron Wiggins – Out ( adductor strain )

Kenrich Williams – Out ( knee surgery )

Nikola Topic – Out ( testicular surgery )

Thomas Sorber – Out ( torn ACL )
