Injury Report: Spurs at Lakers

It’s a marquee matchup tonight in Los Angeles with the 2-seeded Lakers hosting the 5th-seeded San Antonio Spurs. It’s the quarterfinal of the NBA Cup and a single-elimination game. Both teams are missing at least one player in their rotation.

However, Marcus Smart will return to the Lakers lineup tonight after missing the last six games with back spasms.

Maxi Kleber – Out ( lumbar muscle strain )

Kleber will sit out for this one as he works through a muscle strain. He only averages 12 minutes this season, but this may open up a few more opportunities for players like Jaxson Hayes and Jarred Vanderbilt. He’s the only player out for the Lakers tonight.

Spurs Injury Report

Victor Wembanyama – Out ( left calf strain )

The Spurs’ young phenom will miss his 12th consecutive game tonight with a calf strain despite practicing over the weekend. Luke Kornet will likely start in his place, a huge break for the Lakers.

Jordan McLaughlin – Questionable ( left hamstring strain )

McLaughlin may be able to return to the court tonight after missing the last ten games with a hamstring strain.
