Dalton Knecht
Knecht, 24, wasn’t granted the trade he requested in the days leading up to the deadline. He’s seen his role with the Lakers diminish, and he will now spend some time in the G League.
After being a part of the trade that would have sent him to the Charlotte Hornets , Knecht has been unable to regain the confidence he had in his rookie season.
Since then, he had a poor summer league performance and is reportedly viewed as a negative asset. A far cry from the rookie standout many thought they saw in year one.
Knecht has averaged 4.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from three. These are all lower than what he put together last season.
Los Angeles picked up Knecht’s team option for the 2026-27 season, keeping him from being able to be waived.
Adou Thiero
The Lakers’ second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Adou Thiero, has been dealing with injuries all season long.
While recovering from left knee surgery, Thiero sustained an MCL sprain in December. This has kept him out of the Lakers’ lineup for the past 20 games.
ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that Thiero has begun his “first full-contact stay read game” since suffering the injury earlier this week. He will be in South Bay while he continues to ramp up from the injury.
In 15 appearances for the Lakers this season, he’s averaging 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds per game while shooting 38.9 percent from the field.
