Here’s everything you need to know about Dalton Knecht

The Los Angeles Lakers have selected Dalton Knecht with the 17th overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Knecht is a high-level scorer and shooter who had a productive campaign out of Tennessee.

The 23-year-old averaged 22/5/2 on 46/40/77 shooting splits.

Knecht spent two years at Northeastern Junior College before transferring to Northern Colorado for two seasons. He spent his last year in college at Tennessee, where he was the SEC’s leading scorer and won SEC Player of the Year.

Knecht will join the young core, which includes Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and Max Christie. With their new head coach, JJ Redick, the Lakers have placed an emphasis on player development.

With Knecht selected, Redick will look to maximize his potential as an impactful player in his rookie campaign.

The six-foot-five wing with a six-foot-nine wingspan should translate early as a shooter and, with his work ethic, could become a better defender.

His shooting ability should pair exceptionally well with that of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
