Lakers third quarter woes
The Lakers led by two points at halftime, but Orlando outscored them 34-18 in the third quarter as the Magic took over the game.
LA couldn’t contain Orlando’s stars, Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, as they had 30 and 32 points, respectively.
Anthony Black also exposed the Lakers’ defense, finishing the game with 17 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Heading into this final stretch of the season, the Purple and Gold will need to up their intensity in the third quarter to stay in games.
Role players out of sync
The Lakers role players have been out of sync since the team got back to full strength. This is expected as the many injuries caused the role players to take on more responsibility when players like LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura missed time.
The LakeShow now needs to settle its players back into their optimized roles to get back on track. It will be up to JJ Redick and the coaching staff to get everyone back in rhythm ahead of their matchup against the Pacers on Wednesday.
