Lakers trade Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic

Rob Pelinka has pulled off a trade no one saw coming, as the Lakers have traded Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic.

The deal sends Doncic, Markieff Morris, and Maxi Kleber to the Lakers, with Davis, Max Christie, a 2029 first-round pick to the Mavericks, and Jalen Hood-Schifino and two second-round picks to the Utah Jazz.

This trade is surreal, as no one in the association saw it coming. Doncic will form a star duo with LeBron, while Davis will team up with Kyrie Irving.

Per Shams Charania, the Mavs approached the Lakers and offered Doncic. LA’s front office met together, and they believed he could be the face of the franchise for the next ten years, so they decided to make the move.

Dallas was worried about Doncic’s conditioning and having to pay him another supermax contract extension.

The trade completely shakes the foundation of the future of the NBA. It will be interesting to see how the trade pans out for both teams.
