Lakers Win in Team Effort Over Wizards
It was an all-around team win in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ victory over the Washington Wizards. The Lakers won 120-101 to improve their record to 49-26.
LeBron James Leads The Charge
The 41-year-old superstar LeBron James led the way for the purple and gold in a game where Luka Doncic was suspended. James finished with a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists, and a block. He shot 8-16 from the field and 1-3 from three.
He continues to play at a high level despite his age, and his play will be pivotal to LA making a deep run in the postseason.
All-Around Contributions
Without Doncic, it was an all-around performance from the roster. Co-star Austin Reaves wasn’t efficient, as he shot just 4-11 from the field, but still finished with 19 points, three rebounds, nine assists, and a steal. He shot 11-12 from the free throw line.
Luke Kennard and Jaxson Hayes both added 19 points, contributing a ton to the bench unit. Rui Hachimura added 14 points while Deandre Ayton had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
The Lakers will now look to continue the momentum on the second night of a back-to-back as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers. With a win, LA would clinch a top-six seed in the Western Conference.
