LeBron James shines in win over Warriors

The Lakers and Warriors, both without their trade deadline acquisitions, took to the floor Wednesday night for their third meeting of the season.

In yet another battle between Stephen Curry and LeBron James, James’s star shined the brightest. Here are some of the key takeaways from the Lakers’ 30th win of the season.

The King Reigns Supreme Again

LeBron James put on yet another masterclass against the Warriors, totaling 42 points, 17 rebounds, and eight assists to go along with six made threes. James is in the midst of his best stretch of the season and is doing it while being the lone superstar in the lineup.

With James playing like this and the debut of Luka Doncic looming, the Lakers’ offense has a chance to be historically good in the second half of the season

Gabe Vincent’s Breakout

Gabe Vincent continues to trend upward as the season has gone on. In addition to his impressive defense tonight, Vincent hit five threes on just eight attempts.

Vincent’s efficiency continues to rise, and he is starting to look like the Miami Heat version of himself that Lakers fans have been waiting for.

Another Superstar Shut Down

After limiting opposing stars such as James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Jalen Brunson, and Karl Anthony-Towns in the last couple of games, the Lakers once again forced another superstar to have an inefficient night.

Los Angeles held Steph Curry to just 37% shooting, and while Curry did score 37 points, it took him 35 shots to do so.

His struggles in the first half, particularly, allowed the Lakers to build a huge lead that proved insurmountable.

With the 120-112 win, the Lakers are now 30-19 and just one game behind the fourth-seed Rockets. LA will look to continue its four-game win streak when the Pacers come to town on Saturday. Luka Doncic is now unlikely to make his debut in the game, but JJ Redick did not rule out the possibility of him playing.
