Injury Report: Lakers vs Nets

Your Los Angeles Lakers (21-17) are back on the court tonight against the Brooklyn Nets (14-17) at Crypto.com Arena. Wednesday night, the Nets faced the Lakers little brothers in Inglewood and lost by the most significant margin I’ve ever witnessed (126-67).

The Lakers will go into tonight looking to replicate that outcome, and they’ll be doing it against a familiar face. Tonight will be the team’s first opportunity to play against D’Angelo Russell since being traded to the Nets.

Lakers Injury Report

Anthony Davis (Probable – Left plantar fasciitis)

Anthony Davis will look to continue his fantastic streak of play we’ve seen as of late against a battered Nets roster.

LeBron James (Probable – Left foot injury management)

At this point in the season, we will probably see LeBron James on the injury report the rest of the way out. With the rest from All-Star Weekend, we may see a brief hiatus from the report, but even managing the injury, nobody in Laker land is complaining about his recent play.

Dorian Finney-Smith (Doubtful – personal)

While the team will miss DFS tonight against his former team, I’m sure he’s enjoying these first few days with his family and newest child. Congratulations Dorian!

Christian Wood (Out – Left knee surgery recovery)

Wood remains out as he recovers from his offseason left knee surgery.

Jarred Vanderbilt (Out – Right foot surgery recovery)

Vanderbilt will still be out with his foot injury from this summer. Thankfully, JJ Redick recently gave the fans an optimistic update regarding a change in the high-energy wing. Vanderbilt has even been practicing with the South Bay Lakers and Lakers coaching staff alike.

Nets Injury Report

Bojan Bogdanovic (Out – foot)

After coming over to Brooklyn in the Mikal Bridges trade, Bojan has yet to play this season as he is recovering from surgery.

Maxwell Lewis (Out – tibia)

The ex-Laker Max Lewis was sent to Brooklyn with D’Angelo Russell as part of the trade for Dorian Finney-Smith. Unfortunately for Lewis, he broke his leg in his first outing with the Nets. Lakers nation is wishing Lewis a speedy recovery.

De’Anthony Melton (Out – knee)

Cam Thomas (Out – hamstring)

The absence of Cam Thomas should be a massive help to Los Angeles, as the young scorer is averaging 24.7 points this season and shooting almost 38% from three.

Trendon Watford (Out – hamstring)

Cam Johnson (Questionable – ankle)

Cam Johnson, who has been in the midst of many trade rumors, is questionable to play tonight due to an ankle injury. It will be interesting to see where he gets moved prior to the Feb 6th deadline, with his skills being enough to push a contender over the top.
