Injury Report: Lakers vs Pistons

Tonight, the Lakers (16-10) will take on the Pistons (12-17) in Los Angeles. The last time these two teams met, the Lakers put on an abysmal display, losing 115-103. Since then, the team has seemingly turned a corner, especially lately.

In the last six, the Lakers have found themselves with the top defensive rating in the league over that span. Whether or not this is a flash in the pan or sustainable excellence has yet to be proven. Tonight does, however, give them a chance to prove it against an inferior team.

Lakers Injury Report

Anthony Davis (Active – Left elbow contusion)

Davis will continue to fight through a lingering injury he has recently sustained. This is not the first occasion he’s played through injury this season, either. Davis has battled through plantar fasciitis, an eye injury, a shoulder injury, and now an elbow. With each passing day, the narrative about him being made of glass continues to dissipate.

LeBron James (Active – Left foot injury management)

Tonight, LeBron James is active despite the management of soreness in his left foot. Since returning from his week-long hiatus from the team, the King has been back to his old self. Since returning, LeBron has averaged 23/7/7.

Jaxson Hayes (OUT – Right ankle sprain/contusion)

Hayes will continue to miss time due to an ankle injury. He is out for roughly another 1-2 weeks.

Jalen Hood Schifino (OUT – Left hamstring strain)

JHS will miss another game with a hamstring injury.

Christian Wood (OUT – Left knee surgery recovery)

Wood remains out indefinitely.

Jarred Vanderbilt (OUT – Right foot surgery recovery)

Vanderbilt will still be out with his foot injury from this summer and his latest setback, which the team recently reported, in his knee.

Pistons Injury Report

Isaiah Stewart (Out – Left knee hyperextension)

Isaiah Stewart will be out tonight due to his recent knee injury. It may be for the best as there is not only a history between the team and Stewart, but he is a valuable role player for them as well.
