Per the Lakers medical update, Vanderbilt is targeting a return in early January. He has not played in a game for the Lakers this season and only appeared in 29 games in the 2023-24 campaign.
Vando is one of the team’s best perimeter defenders when healthy. Last season, he averaged 5/5/1 with 1.2 steals per game.
Vanderbilt is in the first year of a four-year $48 million extension. The Lakers will hope he returns sooner rather than later, as their bench unit has struggled this season.
