Injury Report: Lakers vs Spurs

Your Los Angeles Lakers will return to the court tonight to play their second game in as many nights against the Spurs. This will officially be the last game that Los Angeles will have to make up due to the fires that ripped through the LA area.

The last time these two teams met, San Antonio stole a game in Crypto, winning 126-102. Much has changed since that game.

Other than the Lakers trading for Luka Doncic, the Spurs also traded for Kings guard De’Aaron Fox. The Spurs, unfortunately, saw both Fox and future GOAT Victor Wembanyama suffer season-ending injuries.

Tonight should be an excellent chance for the Lakers to pick up another win after losing four straight recently.

Lakers Injury Report

Luka Doncic (Available – right ankle sprain)

Doncic is currently nursing an ankle injury sustained nearly a week ago. It kept him out of the game in Denver on Friday, but he played Sunday against the Suns and will play tonight as well.

Dorian Finney-Smith (Available – left ankle injury management)

Finney-Smith, who also missed Friday’s game in Denver, will play in a back-to-back tonight, similar to Doncic. His efforts on the glass and on the defensive end are always appreciated by his teammates and fans alike.

LeBron James (Out – left groin strain)

Yesterday, Shams Charania of ESPN reported that the Lakers have stated LeBron is still another week away. James has begun on-court workouts, though, which is a great sign. It’s also a blessing having a player like Doncic carrying the load in his absence.

Rui Hachimura (Out – left patellar tendinopathy)

Shams also reported yesterday that the Lakers are optimistic Hachiimura will return within the week.

Trey Jemison lll (Out – illness)

Maxi Kleber (Out – right foot surgery recovery)

Spurs Injury Report

Victor Wembanyama (Out – Right shoulder deep vein thrombosis)

This matchup loses most of its luster without having one of the best players in the game available. The duels between Wembanyama and Doncic over the coming years will be cinema.

De’Aaron Fox (Out – Finger tendon surgery)

Similar to Wembanyama, Fox not playing certainly takes the excitement for this matchup down a peg. Next season, with both of them healthy, they’ll provide some fun battles with LA.

Charles Bassey (Out – Left knee bone bruise)

Jordan McLaughlin (Questionable – Left Achilles tendon soreness)
