Lakers 2025 Summer League Roster Breakdown

This week, the Lakers announced their Summer League roster for both the California Classic and the NBA 2K26 Summer League, scheduled for this July.

The roster is a mix of new and old faces, including some fan favorites. Here’s a breakdown of every player on the roster.

NOTE: The Lakers’ 2025 second-round pick, Adou Thiero, will not participate in the Summer League. The wing out of Arkansas continues to heal from the injury he suffered at the end of the college season.

Lakers Summer League Roster

Darius Bazley

Bazley is a six-year veteran who spent most of his time in the NBA with the Thunder during their tanking days. The athletic forward is now looking for a career revival after not playing in the NBA in the 24-25 season.

RJ Davis

If you have watched college basketball at all over the past few years, you know the name RJ Davis. Davis is a North Carolina graduate who finished second all-time in points in school history. He’s a prolific scorer but struggles sometimes with decision-making. He’s a bit undersized at 6’0, but he’ll make sure he gets his shots up.

Eric Dixon

Dixon is a big body Power Forward who led all of Division 1 college basketball in scoring last season. He works well at all three levels and can take and make tough shots on a regular basis. At 6’8, he is a bit of a tweener, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fits in. He handles the ball well for his size, but his passing game is a work in progress.

DaJuan Gordon

Gordon played for the South Bay Lakers last season, where he averaged eight points and an impressive five rebounds per game at the guard position. He will be one of the more athletic players on this squad.

Bronny James

The Lakers’ second-round pick in 2024 returns to the Summer League for the second time in his career. Bronny, the son of LeBron James, showed significant strides as last season went on, and the Lakers will be hoping to see more flashes of that this summer.

Trey Jemison III

Another player who spent time with LA last season, Jemison, will join the team in Vegas. The big man became a fan favorite late last season for his tenacity inside and willingness to fight anybody who got in his way.

TY Johnson

Johnson is a UC Davis product who had quite the college career. He was named to the All-Big West team his senior year, averaging 21 PPG and a couple of steals. He’s a two-way guard who also gets to the free-throw line at a high rate.

Arthur Kaluma

Kaluma is a forward from Texas who had a very consistent college career. He averaged double-digit PPG every season, as well as just north of seven rebounds per game. He occasionally is a threat from three, as he shot 35% on three-point attempts per game. Kaluma never really made a major jump in production in college, but if he is a late bloomer, he could be a solid player.

Dalton Knecht

Knecht will be the best player on this Lakers roster. LA’s 2024 first-round draft pick averaged nine points a game in his rookie season, including some absolute heaters along the way. The next step for the sharpshooting Knecht is improving on the defensive end, which he can begin to do this summer.

Augustus Marciulionis

The Saint Mary’s product has had quite a career path. Marciulionis hails from Lithuania, where he played professionally as a teenager before coming to Saint Mary’s. In college, he was a two-time WCC Player of the Year. He plays at a very slow but controlled pace offensively. He is undersized at the guard spot, though, and needs to find a way to be at least an average defender to have a chance at an NBA roster spot someday.

Sam Mennenga

Another international product, Mennenga, comes from New Zealand, where he played in the NBL before attending Davidson. He’s a combo forward at 6’9 “, could project to be a 3&D wing with proper development.

Julian Reese

You may recognize Julian’s last name, and that is because he is the brother of Chicago Sky Center Angel Reese. Like his sister, Reese is an excellent rebounder down low, and he played alongside first-round pick Derik Queen in college at Maryland. The lefty lacks the ability to create with his right hand, but if he can develop that with some sort of face-up or mid-range game, there’s a world in which he could become a backup NBA big man.

Sir’Jabari Rice

A former college standout, Rice has spent the last two years grinding in the G League and last season played for the South Bay Lakers. He averaged 13 points and three assists last season.

DJ Steward

Steward is another G League grinder, having played there for the last four years. He put up some serious numbers, though, averaging 19 points and five assists. He easily could become the surprise standout the Lakers seem to get once a year.

Cole Swider

A former Laker and fan favorite, Swider will be one of the better shooters on this roster. The stretch four has played 35 career NBA games, and if he can improve defensively, he’s certainly on the radar for an NBA roster spot somewhere.

Ethan Taylor

Rounding out the roster is Air Force graduate Ethan Taylor. Taylor averaged 14 points and five rebounds per game in his senior season while shooting 38% from 3 with 98 total makes. He does struggle finishing inside the arc, but at 6’4″, he has enough size to make an impact on the court.

Lakers Summer League Schedule

The Lakers begin summer league action at the California Classic, which runs from July 5th-8th at the Chase Center. They will then head to Las Vegas for the NBA 2K26 Summer League. The Vegas tournament takes place from July 10th to July 20th.
