Lakers Interested in Former All-Star Bradley Beal Pending Buyout
The Lakers have been active this summer by acquiring Jake LaRavia, DeAndre Ayton, and re-signing Jaxson Hayes. There are still lots of holes to fill with the current roster, and there are some free agents who can come in and contribute right away.
In a surprise, Damian Lillard was recently released and has hit the open market. Bradley Beal is another name linked to the Lakers, as he and the Suns appear to be heading towards a buyout. Los Angeles only has interest if a buyout were to take place.

Beal hasn’t lived up to expectations during his time in Phoenix. He’s coming off a season where he averaged just 17.6 points per game, but the Lakers can always use more scorers around Luka Doncic and LeBron James.
Los Angeles can offer a winning environment, but Beal’s potential role could play a factor. At this point in his career, it’s unclear whether he wants to be a starter or not. He’s not the greatest defender, but he is a great shooter. Over the course of Beal’s career, he has shot 37% from three-point range.
Beal battled multiple injuries during his time in Phoenix, and his overall fit alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant was not ideal.
The Lakers are not the only team to be interested in Beal. The Clippers, Warriors, and Heat are all teams to keep an eye out for. He can come in and play decent minutes off the bench, providing a much-needed scoring punch. The Lakers averaged 28 points per game from their bench, which was one of the worst in the league.
The Lakers still have much-needed moves to make this offseason before fans are satisfied with the roster. We’ll see what Rob Pelinka can work out.
