Lakers are expected to pursue Kevin Durant this offseason
Per Sam Amico, the Lakers are among the teams that will pursue Kevin Durant this offseason. Durant, 36, was shopped at the trade deadline by the Phoenix Suns. They will trade Durant this offseason, barring a deep playoff run.

The Lakers already shocked the world with a trade for a superstar, acquiring Luka Doncic at the deadline. The Luka-LeBron Lakers have been on a role, as they are 2nd in the Western Conference at 39-21.
Trading for Durant would create the best big three in basketball. Durant is averaging 27/6/4 on 53/40/83 shooting splits.
While LA is showing interest in Durant, it’s unlikely they acquire him. Trading for Durant would cost the Lakers most, if not all, of their depth. With LA’s superstar duo already in place, it’s more likely they add more depth in the offseason.
However, Rob Pelinka already made a deal for Doncic that no one saw coming, so you can’t rule out the Lakers adding Kevin Durant.
