Lakers’ Best Offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo Revealed
The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams interested in acquiring Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the world and is on the trade market this offseason. The 31-year-old appeared in just 36 games in the 2025-26 season, battling injury problems, and averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. He shot 62.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three.
While there will be plenty of suitors for the two-time MVP, Rob Pelinka and LA could field a competitive offer.
Lakers’ Best Offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo
Lakers receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks receive: 25th overall pick, 2031 unprotected first round pick, 2033 unprotected first round pick, 2028 first round pick swap, and a 2030 first round pick swap
ESPN insider Shams Charania recently revealed that the Lakers’ best offer would include three first-round picks and multiple pick swaps, with the ability to absorb Antetokounmpo’s contract due to their spacing.
However, this would leave LA with less flexibility to add around Luka Doncic and Antetokounmpo. They wouldn’t be able to re-sign Austin Reaves or LeBron James, unless he is willing to take a major pay cut.
The Lakers’ rotation would not have much depth, but they would have two of the best players in the league.
Antetokounmpo would also serve as a defender against Victor Wembanyama, who has proven throughout these playoffs that he and the Spurs are going to be a problem long-term. Antetokounmpo paired with Doncic would also create some mismatch for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they would still have issues with depth.
Trading for a second superstar in Antetokounmpo is an idea for Pelinka and the front office to consider, but other teams can offer better trade packages, and the Lakers may be wiser to build a deep rotation.
