Lakers drop last game before the All-Star Break

The Los Angeles Lakers lost their six-game winning streak on Wednesday as they lost to the Jazz 131-119.

LA was without some key players in Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent but came out with low energy and intensity on the defensive end of the floor.

With that said, let’s break down how the Lakers dropped their last game before the All-Star Break.

Poor Free Throw Shooting

The Lakers shot atrociously from the free-throw line. They shot 17-30 (56.7%) from the line, leaving missed opportunities and points on the board.

Leaving points on the board against any team, even the Jazz, who have struggled this season, can lead to a loss.

Lakers Defensive Woes

While Finney-Smith and Vincent were out, the defense should’ve performed at a higher level. The LakeShow must come out with effort and intensity in every game if they want to remain a good defense.

Heading into the All-Star Break, LA is in a good spot in 5th place in the Western Conference at 32-20. With Doncic gaining more chemistry with his new teammates, the Purple and Gold are set for an exciting second half of the season.
