Lakers hire two former head coaches to JJ Redick’s staff

The Los Angeles Lakers are hiring Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks as the lead assistants on JJ Redick’s staff.

McMillan and Brooks are former head coaches who should help Redick as he transitions from a former player and broadcaster to a coach.

McMillan has been the head coach for the Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, and Atlanta Hawks. He bolsters a 760-668 record in his coaching career.

Brooks has been the head coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards. He coached the Thunder during the Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant era. His career record is 521-414.

While the Lakers have been quiet in free agency, adding two former head coaches is a wise decision to get the most out of their rookie head coach.
