Lakers lose in overtime to the Hawks
The Lakers lose a heartbreaker in Atlanta in OT 134-132 due to a Trae Young game-winning three-pointer. Los Angeles showed much-needed fight from beginning to end but still came up short because of costly mistakes.
JJ Redick said that, similar to the performances against Orlando and OKC, the Lakers did enough to win a basketball game against Atlanta, but it’s frustrating that they weren’t able to execute the one or two more required plays.

LeBron James Impact
This may have arguably been LeBron’s best game of the season, but it comes in a loss as he finished with a 39-point triple-double along with 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
LeBron has seemed to break out of his mini-slump, but the team cannot continue to rely on him to lead the team in points, assists, and rebounds every night.
Defensive Problems
Los Angeles has struggled on the defensive end all season, and they gave up 134 points in back-to-back games.
Yes, the team is short-handed on this road trip, but issues on the defensive side of the ball continue to cause this team to lose close games.
Bench Scoring
The Lakers were outscored tonight by Atlanta’s bench 65-17. Max Christie led the Lakers in scoring off the bench with 9 points.
The Lakers seem to be missing a quality scorer off the bench and could look to make some moves relatively soon as they have now lost three in a row and finished their road trip with a 1-3 record.
The Lakers host the Trailblazers this Sunday.
