Lakers vs Cavaliers Injury Report: LeBron James Status for Tonight
By Ricky Bellon
With a win last night, the Los Angeles Lakers return to action tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers, aiming to finish their back-to-back on a strong note.
The Lakers have played some of their best basketball lately, but still have seven games remaining to finish the regular season strong before the playoffs. That stretch includes tonight’s matchup and two games against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
While Los Angeles wants to continue to build momentum heading into the playoffs, player availability will play a big role. Here’s the latest injury report.
Lakers Injury Report
- Marcus Smart (Out) – Ankle
- LeBron James (Questionable) – Rest
Smart has stepped up and played great in recent games. He will miss his fifth straight game dealing with an ankle injury he suffered against the Magic.
James is questionable due to rest/injury management, which is understandable for the oldest player in the league coming off a game yesterday. Though with the importance and significance of the game tonight, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he suits up.
Cavaliers Injury Report
- Sam Merrill (NBA player) (Out) – Hamstring
- Jaylon Tyson (Out) – Toe
- Dean Wade (Out) – Ankle
The Lakers have a chance to keep their momentum going, but it won’t be easy, especially with tired legs. The Cavaliers bring a physical challenge on both ends of the court.
Here’s what Lakers fans should be rooting for tonight 👀

If LeBron plays, the Lakers gain a big boost. If not, others must step up again. Either way, this game will test their depth and focus as the playoffs get closer.
