Los Angeles Lakers Sign Quentin Grimes
The Los Angeles Lakers had a rough first day in free agency. They lost the greatest player of all time, LeBron James, lost Luke Kennard, and started today by losing Marcus Smart. Today has since turned around 180 degrees, starting with LA securing Walker Kessler, followed by a flurry of moves, including the Lakers signing Quentin Grimes.

Quentin Grimes
The Lakers lost toughness with the departures of James and Smart, but Grimes will quickly help recoup some of it. Quentin Grimes is a dog.
Grimes is a tough 3&D wing who will add a fantastic scoring punch off the bench. Last season with Philadelphia, Grimes averaged 13.4 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 3.3 APG. He only shot 33% from three last season, but overall for his career, he’s a 37% shooter from beyond the arc.
He’s likely to come off the bench, but he’s not only the type of player to thrive in that role, but can also fill a starting position when needed. In 15 games started last season, Grimes scored 20+ points in six of those games.
It was an abysmal start to free agency for Rob Pelinka and the Lakers, but he’s certainly turned things around on day two. Let’s see what else the Purple and Gold have up their sleeves.
