Luka Doncic 60-point night leads the way for the Lakers

The Lakers (45-25) continue their winning ways by defeating the Miami Heat (38-32) for their eighth straight win, led by 60 points from Luka Doncic. LeBron James finished with a triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Austin Reaves also had 18 points. The big three combined for 97 total points.

Doncic is playing like a man possessed in their last eight games, scoring over 30 points in each game. Los Angeles is in the midst of a six-game road trip and has begun their trip with three straight wins. The Lakers are clicking on all cylinders, and it comes at no better time.

Luka Dončić’s strong play

Thank you, Nico Harrison! When Doncic is hitting shots the way he is, he is nearly unstoppable. He is making things look easy out there. He scored 60 points on just 30 shot attempts, making nine three-pointers throughout the game.

An underrated stat tonight was Doncic’s five steals, which led the team. Doncic, James, and Austin Reaves came into tonight with a questionable designation, but each of them came through big-time in tonight’s win.

The Ageless Wonder

Last night against Houston, James missed one shot, and tonight only missed two. He was extremely efficient with his shot selection and with getting his teammates involved. Doncic has said on multiple occasions that the team is winning games because of the way James is playing, and he’s absolutely right.

James is looking like the younger version of himself as of late, catching lobs and shooting lights out from the field.

Next Opponent

The Lakers will be traveling to Orlando to take on Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic with the mission of achieving their ninth straight win. Los Angeles arrived in Miami at 5 a.m. this morning, so they will get a much-needed day off tomorrow in hopes of being fully rested for Saturday’s contest.
