Luka Doncic to Miss a Week With Injury

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin just announced that Luka Doncic will miss a week of action due to injury. It was clear in the Lakers’ last game that something on his hand was bothering him, and now we know what it is.

Luka’s Injury Will be Reevaluated in a Week

Today, the Lakers announced that Luka Doncic has sustained a left finger sprain as well as a lower leg contusion.

The finger injury was sustained against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. Doncic attempted to swipe down for a block on Jaden McDaniels when he missed the ball and coincidentally made contact with McDaniels’s knee. Doncic was holding his finger before eventually getting it taped up.

It’s even more insane that Doncic put on that performance through the pain.

The Lakers are already missing LeBron James until mid-November due to a siatica injury, so this loss hurts. It’s up to Austin Reaves and the others to step up in both their absences to keep the Lakers above water.

The Lakers don’t have a gauntlet of opponents over the next week, but they do have some tough games. The Lakers play the Kings tonight, the Trailblazers, the Timberwolves again, the Grizzlies, and the Heat next Sunday.
