Playoff Injury Report: Lakers vs Timberwolves

Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in game one of the Western Conference first round. The team was able to accomplish their goals by securing both the 3rd seed and a 50-win season.

Their outstanding season has earned them home-court advantage in the first round for the first time since 2012. This is not to say they’ll need it, but the home-court advantage will undoubtedly help them against the talented Timberwolves team.

Lakers Injury Report

At this point in the season, health is often more of a contributing factor than even talent or continuity. Thankfully for the Lakers, they’re catching their stride in that regard at the perfect time.

Though their main stars, James and Doncic, have both battled their fair share of injuries this season, they both enter this postseason healthy and war-ready.

James suffered a minor tweak to his groin in their second-to-last game of the season against Houston, but thankfully, thanks to his own boisterous bench activity that followed and word from JJ, that is not an injury anyone needs to worry about.

Maxi Kleber will remain out, but there was a positive report from Redick the other day that reported not only LeBron as a full practice participant, but Kleber as well. It would be risky chemistry-wise, but if LA could find a way to infuse Kleber into the lineup, it could be dangerous.

Timberwolves Injury Report

As far as Minnesota goes, they’ll be coming into this series fully healthy as well. The Timberwolves have played fantastic basketball down the stretch of this season and will certainly give the Lakers all they can handle.

The energy in Crypto.com Arena will be off the charts for the Purple and Gold. Get your popcorn ready because the Lakers are ready to put on a show.
