Lakers Sign Christian Koloko and Chris Manon to Two-Way Contracts

The Lakers have signed Christian Koloko and Chris Manon to two-way contracts. This completes their two-way deals as they also have Trey Jemison on a two-way contract.

Koloko had interest from other teams, but LA is keeping him around to continue their development plan with the 25-year-old big man.

Koloko appeared in 37 games for the Lakers in the 2024-25 season, averaging 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, shooting 60.6% from the field.

Chris Manon is the other player joining the Purple and Gold on a two-way contract. Manon is a solid wing out of Vanderbilt.

During Summer League, Manon played for the Golden State Warriors, averaging 18.9 points per 36 minutes with a 54.3% true shooting percentage. Manon has been compared to players like Gary Payton II and Mattise Thybulle with his elite defense and ability to get stocks.

With the two-way signings, this may be the Lakers’ roster heading into the 2025-26 season. LA waived Shake Milton and Jordan Goodwin on Sunday to create cap room to sign Marcus Smart. However, they now do not have enough room to sign a 15th player entering the season.

The Lakers can make a trade to create cap space to sign a 15th player or wait until later in the season, as their current contracts will prorate.

The Lakers wanted to keep Goodwin, but were unable to find a consolidation trade. This makes a trade prior to the season less likely, unless it’s for a rotational player.

Christian Koloko and Chris Manon will look to be impactful in the minutes they get on their two-way contracts.
